Meet 
Shane Spencer

Shane Spencer is a former MLB player and MiLB coach and recently joined the Irish Wolfhounds Coaching staff.

​

Spencer made his MLB debut in 1998 with the New York Yankees and made a quick impact belting 10 homeruns in September including 3 grand slams in just 67 at bats which served as the MLB record for 10 years. During his MLB tenure he spent time with the Yankees, Indians, Rangers and Mets including 3 World Series Championships with the Yankees.

Following his playing career he he served as the hitting coach for the Lake Elsinore Storm (SD Padres, 2008-2012) and Somerset Patriots (Atlantic League, 2012-2015). In 2015, Spencer became the manager of the Hwaseong Heroes, the farm team of the Nexen Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization.
